How To Size Your Scope Cap
Follow our guide to help you determine the right cap size for your needs.

Gathering Tools
For precise measurements, we recommend a caliper for precise measurement of your scope's outer diameter, available on Amazon or at local hardware stores for $10 to $30+
If unavailable, a standard ruler can suffice, though it's less precise. The goal is to accurately measure your scope's outer diameter.

In these examples we were getting ranges from 44.23 to 44.28. Recommended to choose a 44.50 cap size.
Measuring With Calipers
If a caliper isn’t available, use a ruler, keeping in mind it's less precise.
- Place the caliper around the widest part of the scope’s outer diameter.
- Ensure the caliper's measuring points are snug but not overly tight against the scope, and the top bar of the caliper should touch the scope.
- Record the measurement and pick a cap size to the next .25, .50, .75, or .00 measurement.

In these examples we were getting ranges from 44.23 to 44.28. Recommended to choose a 44.50 cap size.
Accuracy Check
After measuring, it’s essential to confirm the accuracy of your reading.
Human Error: Double-checking measurements is key, as human error can occur, especially if measuring for the first time or in a hurry.
Consistency: If measuring multiple times, consistency in the method used each time is crucial for an accurate average measurement.
Surface Irregularities: Check the surface of the scope for any dents, bumps, or irregularities. These can distort your measurements and lead to an incorrect cap size.
Consult Us for Sizing: If you're uncertain or your measurement is borderline close to a .25, .50, .75, or .00 measurement, don't hesitate to contact us for assistance. We're here to help you select the best fit for your scope.
